Join a 24/7 roadside assistance company in Johannesburg as a Tow Truck Driver. Respond to breakdowns, accidents, and vehicle recoveries across Gauteng. Must be comfortable working night shifts and weekends. We operate a fleet of flatbed and hook-lift tow trucks serving insurance companies, fleet operators, and private motorists.
This is a fast-paced, high-pressure role where quick response times and professional conduct are essential. You will interact directly with distressed motorists and must maintain composure in emergency situations.
Responsibilities
Respond to roadside breakdown and accident callouts across Gauteng
Operate flatbed and hook-lift tow trucks safely
Recover and transport damaged or broken-down vehicles to workshops or impound yards
Complete accident scene documentation and vehicle condition reports
Maintain communication with dispatch control room at all times
Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to assist stranded motorists
Ensure all recovered vehicles are secured properly during transport
Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays
Requirements
Valid Code C1 (10) licence with PrDP
Minimum 2 years tow truck or vehicle recovery experience
Knowledge of Gauteng highway network and key accident hotspots
Basic mechanical knowledge for roadside diagnostics
Physically fit for vehicle recovery operations
Clean criminal record (work with insurance companies)
Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Qualifications
Code C1 (10) with PrDP. Tow truck operation experience. First aid certificate advantageous.
