Job Description
An established freight company in Durban seeks a dependable Long Distance Bakkie Driver for regular runs between Durban and Johannesburg along the N3 corridor.
You will transport parcels, auto parts, documents, and general freight. Must be comfortable with 600km+ trips in varying weather including Van Reenen's Pass conditions.
We provide a well-maintained bakkie, fuel card, and structured trip schedule with benefits including provident fund.
Responsibilities
Drive scheduled Durban-Johannesburg route transporting freight and parcels
Collect consignments from pick-up points in Durban and Pinetown area
Deliver goods to distribution centres and businesses in Johannesburg
Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and weather-protected
Complete trip documentation including waybills, PODs, and fuel logs
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Maintain communication with dispatch throughout journey
Handle COD collections where applicable
Requirements
Valid Code B licence with PrDP for goods
Minimum 2 years long-distance driving experience, preferably N3 corridor
Clean driving record
Comfortable driving 600km+ in varying weather conditions
Basic literacy for delivery documentation
Reliable, punctual, able to work independently
Willingness to work early mornings and occasional weekends
Qualifications
Grade 10 minimum. Valid Code B with PrDP. N3 corridor experience preferred. Defensive driving certificate advantageous.
