Job Description
Drive a municipal waste collection truck in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha for a private waste management contractor. Operate compactor trucks on residential and commercial collection routes.
Responsibilities
Drive compactor waste collection truck on assigned routes
Operate hydraulic compactor mechanism safely
Work with a team of 2-3 waste collectors
Complete residential and commercial waste collection on schedule
Navigate narrow residential streets and cul-de-sacs
Report illegal dumping and bin damage to supervisor
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report defects
Requirements
Valid Code C1 (10) licence with PrDP
2+ years waste collection or municipal vehicle experience
Experience operating hydraulic compactor trucks
Knowledge of Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha suburbs
Early morning availability (routes start 5am)
Physically fit and able to work outdoors
Qualifications
Code C1 (10) with PrDP. Compactor truck experience preferred.
