Responsibilities
Collect medical waste containers from healthcare facilities on schedule
Handle biohazard waste per SANS 10248 and NEMWA regulations
Transport waste in sealed, compliant containers to treatment plants
Wear full PPE during all collection and handling operations
Complete waste manifests and chain-of-custody documentation
Maintain vehicle decontamination schedule
Respond to spillage incidents per emergency protocol
Requirements
Valid Code C1 (10) licence with PrDP
2+ years healthcare or hazardous waste transport experience
Understanding of medical waste regulations (NEMWA, SANS 10248)
Clean criminal record (access to hospitals)
Comfortable working with biohazard materials
Physical fitness for loading waste containers
Qualifications
Code C1 (10) with PrDP. Medical waste handling training. Hepatitis B vaccination required.
